Plaza’s 20th Anniversary | How do you want to celebrate?

In July next year the Plaza celebrates its 20th anniversary of being a community cinema. We are planning to hold some celebrations that would involve present, past staff and volunteers as well as the local community.

Twenty years ago when the cinema was under threat of closure, the community sparked by a letter to the Crosby Herald from teenager Paul Culshaw and a campaign led by Janet Dunn amassed a petition of 10,000 names and presented this to Sefton Council. This was just the start of a long and challenging  journey faced by the Plaza to keep the doors open and the films on the screen.

To gauge how the community would like to see this occasion marked, please get in touch with christine@plazacinema so that we can put collate all the best ideas put forward or alternatively If you would like to discuss this in greater detail please give the Plaza a call on 0151 928 1530.

i think if it would be a great idea if you could show the films that were on 20 years ago when it first became a community cinema. you could possibly have a small buffet and raffle prizes and charge a ticket price appropiatetly. i think this would be well supported
