To celebrate World Table Tennis Day 2024 the Plaza Community Cinema together with the International Table Tennis Foundation are showing Ping Pong – Never Too Old For Gold [PG]
A heartwarming documentary (2012) which we hope will inspire young and old showing the well-being benefits of taking up or continuing playing the sport.
The film follows eight pensioners from around the world as they train for and compete in the over 80s Table Tennis World Championships in Inner Mongolia.
Tickets £2, available now from the Box Office (Cash) or from Online Via Skiddle

We will be pushed for time. Will the actual film start dead on 7:30pm?
Thanks.
Hi Tony,
It will start about that time, might not be bang on 7:30pm but will be close to it.
Thanks,
Plaza
Fabulous! This film was part of a “Ping Pong Social Care Campaign” of UK Cinema’s Tour in 2012 support by Brit Doc Films before branching out internationally. Thousands of Dvds were distributed to schools and residential care homes around the country that year to inspire people of any age to play table tennis or return to the game. I think it is really special that it has returned to a Cinema Screen once again. It will inspire a lot of people to once again pick up a Table Tennis bat. Well done Liverpool.
