As March has arrived one of our volunteers will be taking part in the 100km Walk in Her Name charity walk for Ovarian Cancer Action. He sadly lost his Mum, Linda Pimblett to this terrible disease and with March being Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, his family and friends wants to do something positive to help raise money and awareness for the charity.
Ovarian Cancer is sadly often misdiagnosed and when it is, it’s often at a later stage. There is currently very little screening and currently only 3 in 10 women when diagnosed live beyond 10 years. If you have any of these symptoms please don’t leave it late to get checked:

Donations are welcome here – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gary1739887844114
What the money helps with is:
£10 could support our life-saving awareness campaigns, empowering women with the knowledge they need to understand the main symptoms of ovarian cancer.
£25 could provide our researchers with the tools they need to build the next breakthrough, such as pipettes, protective wear or cell culture plates.
£160 could fund a patient volunteer to work with a researcher for two days, helping to make ovarian cancer research more relevant to those it will help.
£250 could fund an MSc or PhD student – the innovators who will make a breakthrough with this disease – for three days at the Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre.
Any donations big or small will be most welcome and will go direct to the charity Ovarian Cancer Action, there is also a bucket in the foyer throughout March for any loose change that you can kindly donate.
