This is a rare chance to watch a feature length documentary film from Argentina.
THE TAKE is an uplifting and inspirational film with a positive message. The documentary closely follows 30 former employees of the Forja Car Parts Plant who successfully form a workers’ co-operative. Eventually, after a few legal battles they are able to take over their old factory and begin to produce car parts again.
Following two major financial meltdowns in Argentina the Forja Plant is just one of a new wave of workers’ co-operatives that are successfully running their own factories, creating new jobs and bringing hope to ordinary people and their families.
THE TAKE directed by Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein, has the power to turn the globalisation debate on its head.
